Bruin Learn / Canvas underwent scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Previously, due to the early timing of this service, new students' Bruin Learn user accounts were linked to the email addresses they initially chose as their official ones. However, certain academic units (e.g., Anderson and Dentistry) mandate the use of unit-specific email addresses for all incoming students. These emails are typically created after the SIR deadline in May. As a result, the email addresses associated with these new students' Bruin Learn accounts needed to be corrected either by the unit or by the students themselves. With this update to the service, students' email addresses can be updated in bulk within their Bruin Learn user accounts, on a unit-by-unit basis, to ensure they reflect the correct unit-specific addresses. This ensures that they receive Bruin Learn notifications at the email address required by their unit. This process helps prevent missed notifications and reduces administrative tasks for academic units, as well as eliminating extra steps for students.
