Overview
Access Pearson is a publisher LTI tool integrated with Bruin Learn. This integration enables students to gain access to interactive resources like quizzes, homework assignments, multimedia content, and tutorials. Grades for Pearson courseware can be synced to the Bruin Learn Gradebook.
Primary Benefits
For Instructors and TAs
- Performance analytics: Instructors can get real-time student performance data as they complete assignments.
- Early alerts: Instructors can receive early notifications if students fall behind and struggle to keep up with the MyLab and Mastering assignments.
- Educational videos: Access a library of multimedia content within Pearson MyLab and Mastering to help students visualize complex concepts.
- Mastering scheduled reading: Assign chapters or sections of the Pearson eText to prepare students for quizzes and homework assignments. Scheduled readings are posted on each student’s assignment page.
For Students
- Personalized study tools: Students can take advantage of Pearson’s personalized study plan, which tailors to their test results. They can view interactive tutorials on topics where they need the most help.
- Immediate feedback: As students complete assignments and quizzes, they receive immediate feedback to help them through problem areas.
- Revel: Students have the flexibility to work on assignments using the REVEL App on their phone or tablet.
- Pearson + is available for most Pearson titles: Students have the benefit of using Pearson + and the Pearson + App to access most Pearson titles associated with the product they are using. Simply login using your Pearson credentials.

Access Pearson is a publisher LTI service available campus-wide.

- Campuswide - LTI tools are available in any Bruin Learn course.
- Sub-account - LTI tools have limited availability. These are often requested and funded by specific divisions, departments, or courses. These LTIs can be found by filtering via Status = "Available at a Cost."
LTI Status
LTI Status Definitions
- Requested - Requested tools are in the earliest phases for inclusion in Bruin Learn. This phase includes learning more about the functionality, supplier, costs, support options, existing campus or UC licensing agreements, etc.
- In Review - The LTI tool is undergoing review by multiple stakeholders, including software advisory workgroups, security, accessibility, funding, data use and privacy, and UCLA Purchasing.
- On Hold - The LTI tool process is on hiatus for any number of reasons, including: remediation of accessibility, security, data use and privacy concerns; identifying available funding sources; negotiations with the supplier; re-consideration of the original need, etc.
- Approved - The LTI tool process has been approved and preparation for installation is underway. Prior to availability, post-approval work may include resolving technical integration issues, developing training, etc.
- Available - The LTI tool process is installed and available for general use in Bruin Learn.
- Available at a cost - The LTI tool has been reviewed and approved and is available for purchase by units requiring the functionality the tool provides.
- Contact ASUCLA Bookstore - Publisher-related LTI tools are obtained through the ASUCLA Bookstore.
